Wisdom: A wise person is someone who listens to and applies all of the advice, counsel, perspective, and insight from the Holy Spirit. They are filled with and led by the Holy Spirit, listening to the still, small voice of God. These people have Divine insight into how to think, speak, act, and live. They live prepared, with discretion, justice, and judgment, while obeying all the Commands of God found in the Scriptures because they fear, love, respect, and honor Him. A wise person reads, hears, meditates, and obeys all of the Words of Christ found in the New Testament.
Characteristics of A Wise Person
- Led by the Holy Spirit – A truly wise person always listens to and is led by the Holy Spirit knowing that the Holy Spirit is the true source of eternal Godly wisdom.
- Words of Christ – Wise people read, study, and practice all of the Words of Christ because He is the Prophet that is to come that Moses prophesied about and forewarned us that God would put His Words in His mouth and shall speak all that God commanded Him and whoever did not listen to Him, God would hold them accountable for not listening. Jesus as the Anointed Son of God spoke the hidden secrets and mysteries of the Kingdom God by the Holy Spirit and His mouth was filled with the treasures of Eternal Divine Wisdom from God Almighty.
- Bible – The whole Bible is filled with the hidden and revealed wisdom of God and should be daily read, studied, memorized, and hid in your heart so you don’t sin against God and enable you to prosper in all that you do.
- Faith – Wise people know that there is only One True God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and to fear Him, have faith in Him, trust Him, love Him, obey Him, and believe He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him is the wisest thing you can ever do not only in this life but in the age to come.
- Access – A wise person does not trust their own wisdom but listens to and practices the infinite wisdom of God.
- Anointed – Any and every Anointed person with a High Calling of God on their life will also be walking in the Divine Eternal Wisdom of God. The Anointing from the Holy Spirit teaches them the truth in all things and shows them things to come. Divine Wisdom and the Anointing go hand in hand.
- Blessed –Someone who is highly favored and empowered by God to prosper in all that they say and do.
- Prosperous – Someone who gains and walks in the wisdom from God is prosperous in all they do.
- Humble – A low regard in oneself in acknowledging that God has created you and has given you all of your abilities, qualities, knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and opportunities which makes you all the more dependent upon Him for everything.
- Servants Heart – A person with a servant’s heart is not high-minded and is willing to get their hands dirty and serve others and not expect others to serve them.
- Self-respect – Someone who has a sense of one’s self-worth before God and shows it in how they carry themselves with dignity and honor.
- Purely Motivated – This person is driven mentally, emotionally, and behaviorally with the force of doing what is right before God and helping others. You do not think or make decisions based on greed or self-advantage.
- Pure – Free from anything that defiles, contaminates, infects, pollutes, or weakens. You are not lustful nor do you think about or treat the opposite sex disrespectfully or inappropriately.
- Godly – Someone who is God fearing and shows it in their speech, conduct, and worship to God.
- Upright – Someone who walks tall in an honest, fair, and just way.
- Pious – Someone who is reverent to God and is devoted to worshipping Him.
- Devoted – Someone who is extremely loyal and loving to God, family and friends.
- Righteous – Acting in accordance with all Divine and moral law. You always do what is right and you are free from all sin and guilt.
- Holy – Set apart, dedicated, completely devoted, and consecrated to God and His sacred purposes.
- Perfect – Someone who is free from faults, defects, and imperfections of character.
- Honest – Marked by frank, sincere truthful expression that is free from deceit, fraud, or deception.
- Truthful – Characterized by the accuracy of facts, realism of events, internal honesty, and forthrightness in all situations.
- Forthright – Direct outspoken speech that is honest, straightforward, and gets straight to the point when expressing one’s thoughts or feelings.
- Sincere – Someone who is genuine in their feelings, thoughts, and actions.
- Genuine – Someone who is free from hypocrisy and is true to exactly what they appear to be. What you see is what you get.
- Authentic – Someone who is true to themselves and they don’t try to copy and act like someone they are not. They can be themselves without fear regarding their likes, dislikes, and personality.
- Integrous – Following one’s moral and ethical convictions and doing the right thing in all circumstances with no regard for personal gain or self-recognition. You do what is right at all times just because it is right.
- Conscientious – Following the inner voice of your conscience in everything you do and never violating your sense of right and wrong.
- Wholesome – One who promotes physical health and well-being of the mind, soul, and spirit. You have a wholesome image and people see you as decent, moral, trustworthy, and not living a secret life of crime or evil.
- Healthy – You are in a state of physical, mental, emotional, relational, social, and spiritual well being. You are eating healthy, and living healthy while keeping yourself spiritually healthy before God.
- Studious – You are diligent, attentive, hard-working, and careful to spend a lot of time when it comes to educating yourself in the Word of God and important subjects that relate to this life.
- Informed – Someone who keeps themselves up to date on current world events, important information, relevant subjects, and pertinent situations within their jurisdiction.
- Prioritized – Someone who has their priorities in order. They put God first in all that they do and they keep the rest of their prioritized with their thoughts and time to what is most important.
- Disciplined – The ability to carefully control the way you work, live, conduct your actions, and achieve your goals.
- Diligent – Steady, earnest, focused, energetic, and conscientious in one’s work duties.
- Active – Someone who is engaged in action, progress, and motion. This person is not lazy and does not procrastinate when it comes to life duties.
- Persistent – Firmly dedicated in a course of action despite difficulty or opposition with the ability to continue to faithfully endure without any discouragement over a prolonged period of time.
- Self-Controlled – The ability to exercise willpower and restraint over one’s impulses, actions, feelings, emotions, and desires.
- Willpower – The ability to use your will to exert power over your thoughts, feelings, words, and behavior.
- Dutiful – Someone who is conscientiously motivated by duty rather than desire or mere enthusiasm to carry out their moral, expected, required, social, work and legal obligations.
- Reliable – Consistently dependable on tasks, quality, trustworthiness, performance, and promptness.
- Consistent – This person is not self-contradictory. You can count on them because they constantly adhere to the same principles and course of action because they firmly hold to their belief system.
- Punctual – Always prompt or early to an agreed time or characterized by the completion of a task on or before the designated time.
- Joyful – One who is always happy and is a delight to be around. Someone who is free from speaking oppressive words and unbearable actions.
- Thankful – Your gratitude towards God is expressed in your eagerness to listen, please, and obey Him in all things because He is worthy. You are also conscious of all benefits received and you are thoughtful and vocally appreciative of those who deserve it especially to God who created you and gives you richly all things to enjoy.
- Appreciative – A feeling of admiration, approval, and gratitude.
- Grateful – Someone who shows and has feelings of appreciation towards God for everything in their life.
- Frugal – You are careful in regards to money, food, time, and resources as not to be wasteful or over extravagant.
- Powerful – Having the ability to effectively influence people and events through your speech and reasoning.
- Influential – The capacity and power to be a compelling force on the actions, thoughts, behaviors, and opinions of others.
- Strong – Having the fortitude to withstand great force or pressure with great moral and intellectual power.
- Tempered – Someone who has been imparted increased strength and consistancy to withstand attacks so as not to break under pressure.
- Courageous – Mental and moral strength to face danger, difficulty, and evil with no fear of pain or retaliation. Willing to boldly act and defend God, the truth, the poor and powerless at all times.
- Bold – No fear or hesitation in regards to speaking the truth and standing up to confront evil.
- Confident – Feeling sure of your God given abilities, not in an arrogant way, but in a realistic secure way. You are full of assurance and strong in your belief that you can do what God has called you to do.
- Authoritative – Confidently commanding with accurate knowledge and wisdom which leads people to trust, respect, and obey you.
- Valor – Great heroic courage, boldness, and determination in the face of danger, opposition, evil, and battle. Strength of mind and spirit that enables a person to encounter dangerous situations with personal bravery.
- Warrior – You fight to the death to defend God, the honor of God, His Kingdom, and His eternal truths.
- Valiant – Very brave and determined, especially when things are dangerous, difficult or the situation gives no cause for hope.
- Brave – Ready to face and endure danger or pain while showing courage.
- Committed – You never back down, quit, give up, or get out of the fight. You are always faithful to God’s cause, your duty, and your Divine Charge from the Lord.
- Unshakeable – You are solid in your beliefs and are not swayed by large crowds, the mob, or the opinions of others.
- Controlled Anger – You have the ability to get angry but keep it under control when it comes to injustices in the earth. You never let your anger get the best of you and cause you to say and do things you would regret later.
- Hatred For Evil – You are strong and vocal when it comes to standing up to evil with vehement emotion and force when the occasion calls for it.
- Gentle – Free from harshness, sternness, and wrongful anger. Showing a mild, kind, and tender temperament of character.
- Thoughtful – Careful and reasonable thinking that is considerate and mindful of other people.
- Considerate – You are careful not to cause inconvenience or hurt to others. You are also thoughtful of the rights and feelings of others.
- Reasonable – Someone who is fair, rational, sensible, practical, logical, and uses good judgment.
- Rationale – Someone who calmly uses reason, logic, and good judgment in handling people and situations.
- Motivated – Someone who is incentivized with a strong desire to do well and succeed.
- Pertinent – Someone who uses important and relevant information in making decisions and handling people.
- Relevant – Closely connected, up to date, and appropriate to what is being done or considered.
- Eloquent – Someone who uses fluent, appropriate and strong speech. They can express what they want to say in clear, effective, and powerful words.
- Loving – Warmly affectionate, caring, and thoughtful to others.
- Kind – Considerate, thoughtful, caring, and ready to help others. You are not only nice to people but you treat animals and all of God’s creation with love and compassion.
- Compassionate – Feeling sympathy for the needs, and hurts of others with a desire and willingness to take action to alleviate it. You have a deep concern for others.
- Smart – Having a high degree of mental ability that is quick with correct answers and actions.
- Forgiving – Quick to release others from mistakes and shortcomings with no resentment or hard feelings against the offender.
- Merciful – Showing compassion or forgiveness towards someone that is within one’s power to punish.
- Gracious – Being pleasant, kind, courteous, compassionate, and polite at all times.
- Empathetic – The ability to place yourself in another person’s position and see, feel, and understand what they are going through.
- Peaceable – Inclined to avoid useless arguments, strife, contention, dissension, hostility, and senseless fights.
- Giving – Providing for the needs of others without expecting compensation and with no strings of obligation attached.
- Hopeful – You maintain inspiring optimism about people, situations, and future events.
- Faithful – Unfailing loyalty that is constant and steadfast even in the face of temptations and trials.
- Loyal – Faithful, firm, and unwavering allegiance even in the face of death, personal gain or hurt to oneself.
- Respectful – You are courteous in showing consideration, and admiration with those who are deserving.
- Courteous – Marked by manners, politeness, friendliness, and consideration of others.
- Polite – Consideration of other people with the practical application of good manners and etiquette so as not to offend others with your speech or conduct.
- Honorable – Carrying oneself with dignity, high rank, uprightness, and in a distinguished way.
- Noble – Showing fine personal outstanding qualities of high moral principles and excellence in character.
- Virtuous – The quality of having high more standards, good moral qualities, and upright behavior.
- Distinguished – You carry yourself with dignity and in a serious authoritative manner. Your speech and conduct command great respect, fear, distinction, favor, and appreciation from others.
- Dignity – Walking in nobility, the elevation of character, gravity, formality, and self-respect.
- Decorum – Appropriate behavior, good taste, propriety, orderliness, dignified speech, and good taste in appearance.
- Modest – A mode of dress, speech, and conduct that avoids the encouraging sexual attraction of others. You are also free from vanity, egotism, bragging, and boastfulness.
- Excellence – Being extremely great at whatever you do that surpasses the ordinary standards. You go the extra mile in everything you do and are not satisfied until you reach this goal.
- Submissive – Ready and willing to submit to a higher authority with a great attitude.
- Obedient – Willing to quickly obey the commands and wishes of those in authority over you.
- Listener – One who pays attention, comprehends, stays focused, ignores distractions and internally digests what is being spoken to them while being ready to think, act upon, and asks relevant questions to what is being said.
- Inquisitive – One who is given to inquiry, research, asking questions, intellectually curious, eager for knowledge, and a desire to dig deeper into matters.
- Teachable – Ready, willing, hungry, receptive, humble, and capable of learning new things.
- Docile – Willing to be taught, led, supervised, or directed.
- Intelligent – Great problem solver and outside of the box thinker with the ability to answer questions from a different perspective than the norm.
- Witty – Characterized by quick, clever, and creative humor that uses words and ideas to illustrate a point. Your inventive verbal humor not only makes people laugh but leaves your enemies and opponents dumbfounded.
- Innovative – Able to introduce new ideas that are original, advanced and creative in thinking.
- Resourceful – Having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties, solve problems, new situations, and to make good use of whatever is available to you at that moment.
- Responsible – Reliable and dependable, as in meeting debts, and conducting oneself in their business dealings.
- Decisive – The ability to make quick, strong, smart, and effective decisions.
- Peacemaker –A person who knows how to bring healing in relationships, reconcile adversaries and solve conflicts. They know how to negotiate and bring an end to quarreling, fights and generational disagreements.
- Negotiator – This type of person has the ability to work with two parties that are in disagreement and get them to agree on terms and conditions that they both agree are fair.
- Diplomatic– Someone who is smooth, skillful and sensitive in dealing with others and can achieve peaceful resolutions or can facilitate open discussions even on difficult subjects. They don’t take sides in a fight, but instead they help others to resolve their differences.
- Deliberate – Doing things carefully, thoughtfully and purposely without hurrying.
- Troubleshooter – A person with special skills in finding and resolving disputes and fixing problems. They can take on the most difficult problems and come up with answers no one else can.
- Meek – Humbly quiet in nature while enduring injury of others without resentment while trusting God to fairly judge the situation. You are powerful, but you keep yourself controlled in all situations.
- Patient – Able to accept delays, problems, and mistakes of others without becoming annoyed or anxious.
- Positive – One who focuses on what is good in life and is full of faith, hope, joy, and gratitude. A positive person doesn’t let negative circumstances dictate to them their joy, but rather they use their positive attitude to turn every negative situation into a positive one.
- Dynamic – Someone who is positive, forceful, full of energy and great new ideas.
- Encouraging – Someone who can instill confidence in others. You are also there to provide support, encouragement, and hope for the future.
- Enthusiastic – Someone who is possessed by God, zealous and full of excitement.
- Childlike – You have the sincere good qualities of innocence and trust that young children have without being corrupted by negative circumstances or evil people.
- Innocence – Lack of guile, corruption, and evil. One who is pure in thought, words, and actions.
- Innocent – Free from guilt, sin, or wrongdoing.
- Selfless – Caringmore for what other people’s needs and wants are rather than for your own. Having little or no concern for oneself, especially concerning fame, position, or money.
- Non-Complacent – Never satisfied when it comes to personal accomplishments and always aware and prepared for actual dangers and real enemy attacks.
- Prepared – Always ready, expectant, and organized to deal with problems, situations, disasters, and attacks.
- Organized – Systematic planning and arrangement of all of your resources for the efficient execution of all work, tasks, projects, and assignments.
- Orderly – The organized arrangement of resources and people for quick retrieval and response.
- Secrets – You have knowledge of Divine hidden truths. You also have knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God with an understanding of how the universe works according to how God created it from the beginning.
- Secretive – You can keep secrets and never reveal the personal information of others. You don’t even let on to others you have this information because you value and keep it to yourself out of love and respect of others.
- Knowledge – Aware of facts and truth through divine insight, study, investigation, reasoning, apprehension, and experience.
- Skills – Master craftsman, technical capability, and the ability to create. This is someone who has perfected their trade and has God given abilities to create and invent new things that others don’t know how to.
- Creative –You can create beautiful music, works of art, or things that help mankind. You also can think outside of the box and pull in ideas from God that are not normally thought about.
- Observant – You are quick to take notice of people, situations, important details, and your surroundings.
- Seasoned – A person who has vast experience throughout the years and has grown through each engagement they have been in. They can handle any situation that comes their way and they know how to do their job well.
- Skillful – Someone through time, practice and experience has become very good at handling themselves in every situation. They are very proficient and great at what they do.
- Proficient – Someone who is knowledgeable, competent and efficient at what they do.
- Competent – Someone who has the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, qualifications and aptitude to be successful at what they do.
- Intuitive – Supernatural ability to understand people, problems, and situations immediately without using or having any pre-knowledge. Your ability to see into and understand people, problems, and situations go beyond mere facts, evidence, proof, or the reasoning process.
- Insightful – The ability to see accurately and with a deep intuitive understanding of people and situations.
- Divine Insight – Divine insight gives you the ability to see into the spirit world and understand people and situations from a Divine and eternal perspective.
- Understanding – Sympathetically aware of other people’s feelings, and situations while being tolerant and forgiving. Also, the power of comprehending people, the truth, and situations.
- Divine Understanding – Divine understanding can only come by God showing someone how things and work and operate at a spiritual level and not just a natural level. This could be through a word of knowledge or a word of wisdom.
- Perceptive – The ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses or keen insight.
- Divine Perspective – A Divine Perspective can only come by an understanding of looking at things from God’s eternal point of view and not just a limited earthly view.
- Discerning – The ability to obtain deep insight into a matter and look beyond just the mere natural perception and judge it fairly.
- Shrewd – Marked by clever awareness and knowledge of how to artfully deal with other people and situations.
- Acumen – The ability to make quick decisions with good judgment.
- Keen – Characterized by great perception while being extremely sensitive and responsive.
- Mature –Someone who is developed emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. You think, speak and act in a higher, deeper, and proper way.
- Hard-working –Constantly engaged, earnest, energetic, industrious and always putting a lot of effort into one’s work.
- Standards –You set the bar high in how you live by following God’s law and others can use you as a measuring point of right and wrong in how you live. You live by the high standards of God’s ways and you will not bend bow or break God’s law in every situation you find yourself in. You have things you will do and not do in every situation which protects you from ever getting trapped by the enemy or falsely accused.
- Aware –Always having knowledge and perception of the people and situations that are going on around you.
- Ethical –You are honest, truthful, and fair. You always follow good moral standards and operate with high character in all that you do.
- Moral –You are concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior in all that you do. You always walk and do what is right in all situations.
- Content –Someone who is pleased, satisfied, happy and at peace with themselves and their situation.
- Watchful –You are vigilant and closely observant. You do not fall asleep on the job or ever get distracted from your duties. You are faithful to maintain a close and alert eye to keep any enemy away from those you care about or under your jurisdiction.
- Alert –You are quick to notice any unusual and potential dangers or difficult circumstances.
- Serious –You speak and act in earnest sincerity, rather than in a joking or halfhearted manner. You are characterized by deep thought and careful consideration in your thoughts, words, and actions.
- Appropriate –You are suitable, proper, and fitting in all circumstances. You know when to be serious or playful depending upon the people you are around or the situation.
- Steadfast –You are firm and resolute in your faith, mindset, words, and actions. You never waiver.
- Resolute –You are characterized by mental firmness and determination. You are fixed in who you are and are not easily swayed.
- Determined –When you make a firm decision you are resolved to not change it and you will not let anyone stop you.
- Resolved –You think through with your thoughts and decisions and stay determined in what you conclude. Once you make up your mind about what is right you are not swayed by others.
- Admirable –You excel in competency, talent, character, and your standards which are deserving of the approval and respect of others.
- Couth –Cultured, refined, sophistication, politeness, and well mannered. You know how to speak and handle yourself in the face of uncomfortable situations.
- Philomath –Someone who loves to learn and study. A person who enjoys learning new facts and acquiring new knowledge. This person loves wisdom and knowledge.
- Polymath –A person who is a possessor of knowledge in multiple fields.
- Sapiophile –A person who finds intelligence attractive.
- Articulate – Someone who has the ability to express their thoughts by speaking in a fluent, coherent, clear and effective manner.
- Polished –Someone who characterized as refined, confident, developed, styled and knows how to behave socially.
- Refined –Impurities, character issues, and bad habits have been removed through instruction, correction, and life circumstances. Also, good and outstanding character traits have been developed within your speech and behavior.
- Chivalrous –Marked by courage, honor, loyalty, courtesy, and high-minded consideration especially toward women, children, elderly and the weak.
- Present – You live in the moment and your mind doesn’t wander when listening to others or important conversations. You are not easily distracted by others or your environment when you are speaking to people or involved in important situations.
- Proactive – You are on you “A Game” and take care of situations and relationships before something negative occurs because of your neglect, irresponsibility, or absence of duty.
- Prudent – The ability to see into the future and prepare for it.
- Prudence – The ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason and cautiousness.
- Poised – Someone who controls themselves in a composed and self-assured manner in all situations.
- Composed – Someone who has their feelings, thoughts, words and actions under control. They are also calm under pressure.
- Calm – This person doesn’t’ show nervousness or anger even when there is cause for it. They are peaceful and free from stress and worry.
- Cautious – Ability to foresee and avoid potential problems, risks, or dangers.
- Smooth – Someone who operates politely, confidently and without interruption or difficulty.
- Circumspective – Someone who is careful to consider all circumstances and possible outcomes to avoid making mistakes that have bad consequences. This person looks around in every way and is watchful of danger.
- Discrete – The quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense, revealing private information, and knowing what to say and do in every situation.
- Private – Someone who can be trusted with secrets and confidential information.
- Adaptable – Someone who is flexible and uses their heart, mind and spirit to deal with unexpected challenges that come their way.
- Equity – The quality of being fair, impartial, and just.
- Fair – Free from cheating or trying to achieve an unjust advantage in any situation.
- Impartial – Treating all rivals or disputants equally with fairness while also being free from any bias or prejudice. You are no respecter of persons that doesn’t make any judgments with partiality to fame, money, power, or influence.
- Just – Behaving oneself in alignment with God’s legal standards to what is morally right and fair to everyone.
- Visionary – A person who thinks about and plans for the future with imagination, hope and wisdom. This is a person with original ideas of what the future will or could be like.
- Counsel – Wise people listen to the counsel of wise advisors.
- Spiritual Hunger – Wise people are very hungry for more of God, His Presence, His Word, His Counsel, His Advice, and His Wisdom. You are also hungry to receive correction with a great and thankful attitude.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom because you respect, tremble, and are in awe of Him because you know God to be the Wise Creator and All-Powerful Eternal Judge who holds everyone accountable for their ways, thoughts, words, and actions. Based upon one’s thoughts, words, and actions in this life you will be either eternally judged or eternally rewarded. Because of this fact, the wise take heed and listen to God in all of their ways. The wise in heart always have a sense of fear and it is this sense of fear that keeps them from saying and doing anything foolish that will cause them to be judged by God and bringing a curse on their life.
